The designed booth for Slalom at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2025 is centered around a pavilion concept that encourages exploration from both exterior and interior perspectives. This design features a cinematic walk-through experience, highlighting a diverse range of textures, finishes, and colors that demonstrate the flexibility of Slalom’s acoustic solutions. The intention is to create an environment rich in sensory experiences.
Collaboration Origin
The collaboration with Slalom began a few years ago during Stockholm Design Week, where a meaningful conversation emerged surrounding themes of space, sustainability, and acoustics. This initial interaction established a strong foundation for future projects.

Concept Development
The booth design process focused on creating a unique environment that emphasizes spatial depth through layered framing and evolving views. This approach allows visitors to experience shifts in perspective, color, and pattern as they navigate the space. The design resembles a “box within a box,” with its architectural elements framing an inviting yet enigmatic interior.
Challanges Encountered
This booth marks the designer’s smallest project, but it presents significant architectural and artistic complexity. Unlike previous designs that concentrated on tangible products, this project allowed for a focus on surfaces and colors in conjunction with acoustic features. The challenge was to balance showcasing a variety of materials while achieving a cohesive aesthetic.
Color Integration and Functionality
Color is interwoven with functionality in this design, as visual appeal should augment the overall purpose. The color palette includes neutral tones from Slalom’s acoustic panels—such as Woody and Bloom—paired with bolder, playful hues. This combination enhances the booth’s aesthetic while fulfilling acoustic functionality.
Intended Visitors Experiance
The objective was to cultivate a dramatic yet whimsical atmosphere, allowing visitors to engage in multiple experiences and perspectives that provoke reflection and inspiration.
Personal Design Influence
The designer, hailing from Stockholm but working internationally, infused the project with an aesthetic that draws from both local and Mediterranean influences. This includes exploring dimensionality through layered designs inspired by labyrinths and tile work.
Innovative Acoustic Integration
The collaboration has revealed new pathways for utilizing Slalom’s acoustic products, particularly the integration of three-dimensional textures into flat surfaces like walls and ceilings.
New Product Design
A standout creation for Slalom includes a printed felt piece featuring a color-blocked design inspired by the booth’s overall color scheme, which incorporates shades like mustard and pastel blue with a striking emphasis on black.
Future Material Innovation
The designer anticipates that future advancements in sustainable materials will significantly impact design, particularly how color and space interact. Emphasizing sustainability, the designer is committed to exploring blended, recycled, and raw textures in impending projects.
Evolving Color Trends
Current trends indicate a shift towards calm and harmonious color schemes that offer comfort and security. This movement signifies a departure from the minimalist aesthetic, as consumers increasingly seek nuanced and welcoming environments.
Aesthetic Development
The designer’s appreciation for color and texture developed early on. A pivotal moment occurred when a beloved pink carpet was replaced by grey flooring, which diminished the room’s vibrancy. This experience informed a lifelong interest in how color influences spatial energy, culminating in the desire to recreate that vibrant environment within the designer’s personal spaces.
